Scott Hicks took over as head coach of Miami Women’s Hockey at the beginning of the 2010 season. Coach Hicks was instrumental in the start-up of the women’s hockey program at Miami. He has over 22 years of hockey experience as a player, coach, and official. Coach Hicks also helped start the men’s program at Northern Kentucky University in 2005 where he played for three seasons after completing three years of junior hockey. He has worked Miami hockey schools and ran the learn to play hockey program for three years in Cincinnati, Ohio. Coach Hicks has learned from three of the five head coaches in Miami’s history in Steve Cady, Bill Davidge, and current head coach Enrico Blasi.
Coach Hicks is entering his Fifth season behind the bench for the Lady RedHawks. Miami has seen a steady incline in each of his first four season, culminating with the success the program had in the 2013-2014 campaign where they captured their first ever conference regular season title, conference tournament title, and National Championship. Coach Hicks was named the 2013-2014 ACHA coach of the year and will serve as an assistant coach for Team USA at the World University games in February of 2015. He has compiled a 81-39-11 record in that time span.
Hicks resides in Richmond, IN with his Wife, Leslie, and two kids, Anna and Scott Jr.
Jim Stearns has more than 30 years coaching experience ranging from introductory programs to college club. Jim coached minor hockey for seven years with Miami’s legendary coach, Steve Cady. Before being involved with women’s hockey at Miami, Jim coached numerous men and women players who have gone on to play Divison 1, Division 3, and college club hockey. Jim is a graduate of Boston College and is Professor Emeritus in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University. Jim served as Chair of the Marketing Department for nine years and has been a faculty member at Miami for 33 years.
Jim enters his fourth year at Miami and has been an instrumental part in the growth and development of the women’s hockey program. Jim primarily runs the defensive group and also serves as the recruiting coordinator for Miami.

Nolan Peduto served as Assistant Coach/Goaltender Coach for the Lady RedHawks for three years before moving to Fayetteville, Arkansas to work for The Nielsen Company as a Retail Analyst. He hails from East Greenwich, Rhode Island and was a goaltender for the Miami men’s club team for two years. Nolan graduated from Miami with an economics major and management information system minor.
